Assessments & Diagnostics

Clarity. Understanding. Direction.

Psychological assessment is a structured and evidence-based process that helps parents and caregivers better understand their child’s learning profile, attention patterns, emotional functioning, and developmental needs.

Our goal is not simply to provide labels, but to build a clear and meaningful understanding of your child’s strengths and challenges so that support can be targeted and effective.

Types of Assessments Offered

Cognitive Assessments (IQ)

To understand intellectual functioning, reasoning abilities, processing speed, working memory, and learning capacity.

Autism Spectrum Screening

To assess social communication, restricted interests, and developmental presentation where autism is a concern.

Learning Assessments

To identify specific learning difficulties in areas such as reading, writing, or mathematics.

Emotional & Behavioural Assessments

To understand mood, anxiety, behavioural challenges, and psychosocial functioning.

ADHD Assessments

To evaluate attention, impulsivity, executive functioning, and behavioural regulation.

Developmental Profiling

For younger children where global developmental concerns are present.

When Is an Assessment Helpful?

Assessment may be recommended if:

  • Your child struggles academically despite effort

  • There are ongoing attention or behavioural concerns

  • Emotional difficulties are persistent

  • Teachers have raised concerns

  • School documentation is required

  • You want clarity before beginning intervention

Assessment provides objective data to guide decision-making and reduce uncertainty.

Assessment Process & Timeline

Our assessment process is structured, transparent, and collaborative.

1. Clinical Interview
(1-1.5 hours)

A 60–90 minute session with parent(s) and child to understand developmental history, current concerns, and school context. Based on this session, our clinician will recommend the appropriate assessment battery.

2. Assessment Session(s)
(Up to 2 Days)

Depending on the recommended assessments, testing may take place across one or two days.

Each session typically lasts 1.5 – 2 hours to ensure the child remains regulated and engaged.

3. Report & Feedback Session (1 hour)

A comprehensive written report will be provided:

  • Clear explanation of findings

  • Diagnostic conclusions (if applicable)

  • Strengths and areas of need

  • Practical recommendations for home and school

  • Intervention guidance

A 60-minute feedback session is conducted to walk parents through the findings and next steps. Reports are professionally written and aligned with educational and clinical standards.

What Makes our Assessments Different

  • Developmentally informed interpretation

  • Integration of emotional and relational understanding

  • Clear, parent-friendly explanations

  • Practical and realistic recommendations

  • Collaborative, not alarmist

We believe assessment should reduce anxiety, not increase it.
